vikepounds!

hello guys! last week, we distributed vikepounds and finished the process for this year. despite being online, we had fairly good sales (lower than previous years, but we increased the price to $20 so that made up some of the difference). please let us know what you thought of the process, from ordering to distribution! issues: typos, spreadsheet issues, masks weren't printed on original shirts, some people didn't pick theirs up, distribution time was wrong on promo, took a while (had to send shirts back + figure out socially distanced distribution process) thanks! - spirit <3

Quarantine Art Showcase

hi everyone! clink just wrapped up quarantine art and would love to receive feedback! please read this overview before you comment to avoid repetitions: - timeline : late nov - mid jan - promo : through art clubs and art teachers, school wide email, instagram story, facebook post, viking games mention - showcased : four posts on asb instagram, *WE'RE ALSO SENDING IT THROUGH MS. JACKSON'S WEEK AHEAD AND AN EMAIL TO THE STAFF* - other notes: around 30 submissions, random giveaway for a prize worth $30 (it was an art set! giftcards aren't allowed) - what went well:  we overall consider this event a success because promo went well and we had a solid amount of submissions. we were able to target more of a niche and catered to artists. incentivizing it also helped! most importantly, people submitted amazing pieces.  -  what could be different: as we mentioned, compressing the timeline would have been favorable since it dragged over a couple of months primarily because we had a...

The Viking Games

hi everyone! the viking games ended this past week, and social would like your feedback!! some things we thought went well: - lots of sign-ups/interest for the games - filming went pretty smoothly, not many tech issues - students/teachers had fun during games  - personally communicated with spirit/tech - second week of the minigames was very successful! lots of participation - using social media (+tagging) definitely helped participation - used emails, lynbrook app, @thevikingames for promotion what didn't work: - first week didn't have as much participation - could have worked with PR for graphics (but would possibly have been more inefficient due to last-minute changes) - some youtube videos were very long thanks, social <3

november pr vid !!

grettingz!! the  november pr vid was aired in homeroom 2 weeks ago. if you remember it we'd appreciate your feedback!! some things we thought went well: -all signups on time -filmed at murdock instead of rainbow to change up the scenery some things we thought did not go well: -lighting is inconsistent in winter and sometimes hard to fix in post  get your points! lol... <3 pr + tech

Spicy Ramen Challenge

Hey everybody!  The ramen video went up about two weeks ago, and we'd love to get your thoughts on it!  what worked:  - the idea of a spicy ramen challenge was really good! based on engagement and views at the time of making this blogger it seems that the student body has really enjoyed the video, and it did a good job at letting the student body get to know the participants - the video editing itself was entertaining! so far from everybody I've talked to said that they've loved the cutaways to different memes and the zooming in, and I think it made the video a lot funnier  - filming logistics: the system that the project leads worked on to have people sign up, to have them record, and to have them turn in the footage was all very streamlined and it made it really easy to start editing and to find footage  what didn't work:  - the donation collection and donation process! the project leads were all kinda confused as to whether the cost of the ramen w...

Breathe Week

Hi friends! BREATHE Week was 11/2-11/6, and it was a new event for this year. Our goal was to increase awareness and break the negative stigmas surrounding mental health, especially in our community. Here are some things we noticed: - not as much participation for yoga+breathing session as expected - graphics+email spam is losing effectiveness - new creative promo might help ? - lindsey's comics were really eye-catching and a good way to interact with the student body - predict technical issues so try to practice/work things out beforehand (ex. yoga session) - alumni are amazing resources - in general: lots of useful resources if you search for them - instagram live can be risky (we couldn't disable comments) - encourage HR teachers to relay info + announcements Please let us know your thoughts and any suggestions you might have. Thank you and have a good day :) ~ Rec <3

Wildfire Fundraiser

The Wildfire Fundraiser was last week from 10/12 to 10/16! We raised $209 overall, and we are donating it to the Red Cross disaster relief fund .  Here are some things we think went well:  Raised $209! Graphics look really good Good communication with Admin What could be improved: More class participation from ASB beyond of just posting on stories Ex. encouraging friends to donate, donating  Barely any participation in the IG challenges Paypal made it difficult to donate and probably deterred a lot of people People were pretty uninterested in the dares because of so many social media spams/challenges lately We wanted to give people a small break from the posting because we just had multiple challenge weeks in a row and it was pretty overwhelming, waited a few weeks after fires died down to give a break in between story challenges, but the cause wasn’t as urgent or pressing anymore Thanks guys!

september pr video !!

greeeeetings !!!! the september pr video was aired in homeroom 2 weeks ago. it was the first pr video of the year so we would love to get your thoughts on it! some things we thought went well:  -all signups on time and scripts turned in timely -refilming went pretty smoothly even with the last minute notice (thank you all!) -the date was before a lot of september events and updates so a lot of info could be said some things we thought did not go well: -difficult to find songs that work well with the video but aren't overused and are clean -harder to hear people in general now because of masks  -filming took a long time for every commission (adjusting to remote is a little difficult) -using zoom clips can lower the quality of the video but hard to find alternatives (like the admin clip) -lighting is tricky because filming is condensed to less days and more commissions per day as opposed to last year filming one commission a day in breakout so the lighting changes quickly ...

VIRTUAL CLUB INFO WEEK

Club Info week was from 9/8-9/11 this year. Here are clinks lessons/things to consider in coming up with your feedback. Thank you in advance for your feedback.   <3 Clink - SEND OUT COMMUNICATIONS TO TEACHERS 1.5 WEEKS IN ADVANCE AND USE HOMEROOM Some teachers would have preferred we use homeroom instead of using bio to show video to freshman - EARLIER: Try to give clubs more time to create videos or online resources (quick turnarounds turned into some clubs asking for extensions) → stagger this with start of school process -First week of school: Assimilate -Second week: ICC -Third week: ICC forms due -Fourth week: CIW  - Club advisors dropped/moved schools SO at the end of year every year, have check-in process to make sure clubs are figuring out important details BEFORE the start of the next school year (update Master Clubs list, email to adviser, etc.) -We sent out a form during the staff breakfast for new staff who were willing ...
